In June 1999 new information system DBIRŽA-I was implemented in Lithuanian Labour Exchange. This system was created by the specialists of "Alna" Joint Stock Company Ltd.. DBIRŽA-I has Client/Server structure, it uses Windows NT operational and SQL data base management systems.

It is a modern information system which helps to improve management quality and client service of Lithuanian Labour Exchange. This system operates not only locally but in global computer network that covers all the districts of Lithuania as well. It corresponds to the requirements of newly developed Lithuanian information infrastructure and meets international standards. It allows to exchange information with other information systems, integrate into the space of EU labour market institutions.

All the functions of the specialists of labour exchanges concerning service of employers and job seekers - from registration up to placement into jobs - are computerized in the system. This system helps to perform various analytical calculations of labour market indicators and forecasts. This allows to analyze and evaluate situation on labour market and to make decisions.

System DBIRŽA-I is an open system. On the basis of its job vacancy data base Self Information Service system (SIS) was developed and implemented. This system is meant for public use. It guarantees new quality of client service, when job seekers can find information independently without registration in labour exchange.
